Meet Hot Rod, the kitty with speed! In fact, he’s so quick, it’s hard to get a photo of him! Hot Rod would not be here today if it weren’t for the hard work and dedication of his foster mom, who nursed him back to health. His spine was damaged when a large breed dog bit him on the back. He was paralyzed in his hind legs and had no ability to urinate on his own for months. He needed his bladder expressed manually several times a day while waiting for some function to return. He also needed to learn that not all dogs would treat him like a squeaky toy! He came to the sanctuary as we knew his chances for adoption were very slim given the care that he needed daily. The good news is that he’s recovering well, and continues to get stronger every day, thanks to the other kitties and their physical therapy program for him - he’s even climbing trees! He walks with a swagger in his step just like John Wayne, but it doesn’t slow him down, he thinks it helps him with the ladies!
