Leonard joined us at the end of 2004, after suffering the loss of his best friend. His grieving made us worry about his health. Fortunately, not long after coming to the sanctuary, he has made many new friends. He is 17 years old, but certainly doesn’t act his age! We thought that he would be the perfect host for our “senior villa” but it turns out that he loves the youngsters! He received on-the-job training from Jim in the care of the handicapped kitties. He now runs the Kitty Cabana and oversees the daily activities. He was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 2006, which is being managed with medication. It certainly hasn’t slowed him down. He is, however, starting to appreciate sleeping in on chilly mornings!
