Rocky (aka Rocky the Rocket or Rocky the flying squirrel cat) is another handsome guy who’s lucky to be alive. He arrived at a local veterinary emergency clinic, brought in by two people claiming to have found him. They left him at the front counter in a cardboard box that was taped shut! What the staff found when they opened the box surprised everyone - a beautiful young kitten, covered in fleas, eyes glued shut with discharge, and burns on the inside of both his hind legs - yes, burns! They went to work cleaning him up and treating him for parasites, because as it turns out, he had roundworms, tapeworms, and giardia. He needed quite a bit of nursing care, so it was natural for him to move in to the sanctuary. He is healed now, and holds no grudges against those who mistreated him early on. He’s too busy playing with his toys, or climbing and leaping from a tree to a nearby shoulder to care! He also helps Jim take care of the special needs kitties, making sure to round them up for feeding time!
